This transfer process will cancel your old service automatically. In fact, I have in the past.....so, many ungrateful people on here...probably committing fraud & really don't qualify for a free phone. Keep complaining people & this program will be taken away from all of us & many of us d O need it.

I have a list of providers; there's a link below, or you can use the menu above and find it under the FREE Service section. They (Assurance Wireless) sent me 2 phones within 6 or 7 months. After about 1 year I called and bought a flip phone for .95, and it is not any better. I GOT A FRAUD ALERT ON MY VERY LIMITED CREDIT CARD!!! I am retired & living on 0 a month after I pay for my high dollar health insurance.,,,, Medicare & a supplement that goes up every year....going to have to drop it & I have many, many health probs, too! I have a small savings to pay for homeowners & car insurance & taxes, so, I can't get any help except for my heating bill, which is NOT paid for by our wonderful govt. I had to get a different phone due to the freebie not working....tried 3 of them, BUT..... I've dropped it several times, so, might have to get another one day! I'm interested to buy a compatible phone for the assurance wireless plan to replace my unreliable paylo dumb phone, but the smart phones they recommend seem to be outdated or out of production. Unfortunately, this isn't unusual across all industries.

Unfortunately, however, the only way to really know is to call and ask. But if I can't get this phone switched, I am LEAVING ASSURANCE WIRELESS FOR GOOD! Like someone else stated, just because we can't afford to pay tons for phone services, does not mean we should be dealt with dinosaur cell phones that totally suck so bad that it's more of a pain in the behind to try and use them, than it would be to end up paying for a better phone and forking out the money we can't afford for decent services... Hey, it makes/accepts calls, texts, and has some data, although I have little need for that.

For those who want to find out what's compatible prior to actually purchasing a new phone, I recommend talking to at least 2-3 different customer service reps to check for consistent responses! The online swap feature did not work, but since I had been emailing a customer service rep previously about the other phone, I sent an email and within a few hours, AW replied and activated the ZTE.

They are (((Junk))) 1 burned up and 4 went bad in 6 mounths now!!! They are telling me to buy the kyocera hydro reach now?

What phone, other than the FREE Assurance Wireless phone, can I use with Assurance Wireless service?

From Assurance Wireless' website, under FAQs: "For the best customer experience, we encourage you to use the phone sent to you by Assurance Wireless.

The ZTE Quest, ANS UL40, Unimax 673, ZTE Tempo, ZTE Tempo X, Kyocera Hydro Reach and Coolpad 3300 are compatible.

I am a senior citizen and have a lot of health issues and no one is going to hire me.Feb,1,2018 I have had assurance wiress for about 5 years now.I wanted to get a better phone so I got the UMX673 I belive.Other Assurance Wireless Android models (Coolpad 3300, Unimax 673, ZTE Tempo and Kyocera Hydro Reach) are also compatible."Don't believe a word of that. I bought a new Kyocera Hydro Reach from e Bay, relatively cheap purchase too. The Assurance Wireless FAQs state that this is a compatible phone. Perhaps I entered the wrong number (although I tried the 14 and 18 digit numbers), or perhaps my formatting was wrong. Yes, you can change to a different Lifeline provider.
